A TEACHER FIRST
The W. H. Pool Jr. Society was formed in 2005 to honor the contributions of Dr. W. H. Pool Jr., Professor Emeritus and chair of the MCG Department of Radiology from 1974-87. Dr. Pool, a 1952 School of Medicine graduate, completed his residency at MCG, then served on the faculty for all but two years from 1957 to 1990.

The senior class of the School of Medicine presented him with Teaching Excellence Awards each year from 1968-71. He was also noted as an excellent educator by the radiology residents of the class of 1989 and the family medicine residents of the class of 1985. He is a member of the MCG President’s Club.

Dr. Pool lives in his hometown of Atlanta, where he enjoys volunteering, painting and spending time with his children and grandchildren in the family lake house on Lake Rabun.

“I’ve always enjoyed both my biological
children and my professional children—
the residents I trained while at MCG.
Some of my most memorable moments at
MCG were when the resident group each
year graduated. That was always a very proud time for me. In some ways, I always considered myself a teacher who happened to be a physician and a radiologist.”
 Dr. W. H. Pool Jr.

A PROGRAM JUST FOR YOU
Please help us honor Dr. Pool’s accomplishments while broadening your
knowledge of radiology by attending the 2006 Pool Society Weekend on
March 2-5. Invitees include all of Dr. Pool’s former residents, as well as
colleagues throughout the Southeast, so this is a wonderful time to rekindle old friendships and forge new bonds. Continuing medical education credits are available for the March 3-4 programs. Attendees are encouraged to bring technical staff to the CME lectures at no additional charge.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

CREDIT
The Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing
medical education for physicians.

This educational activity is planned for a maximum of 14.25 Category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award (or a maximum of 15 Category 1 credits if attending the Interventional Neuroradiology session on Friday). Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity.

The scheduled instructional time in this activity is 14.25 hours (or 15 hours if
