A Teacher First...
The W. H. Pool Jr. Society was formed in 2005 to honor the contributions of
Dr. W. H. Pool Jr., Professor Emeritus and chair of the MCG Department of
Radiology from 1974-87. Dr. Pool, a 1952 School of Medicine graduate,
completed his residency at MCG, then served on the faculty for all but two
years from 1957-90.
The senior class of the School of Medicine presented him with Teaching
Excellence Awards each year from 1968-71. He was also noted as an excellent
educator by the radiology residents of the class of 1989 and the family
medicine residents of the class of 1985. He is a member of the MCG
President’s Club.
Dr. Pool lives in his hometown of Atlanta, where he enjoys volunteering,
painting
and spending time with his children and grandchildren in the family lake
house on Lake Rabun.
Purpose
This course will offer lectures about techniques and applications of MR Imaging in clinical practice.
Objectives
This course should enable participants to:
Targeted Audience
This course is designed for diagnostic radiologists and other health care
professionals interested in state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Location
Sessions will be held in the Radiology Classroom R2200 in the MCG Medical Center (2nd floor main hospital R2200).

The registration fee includes a course syllabus containing supplemental
material.
Annual Pool Society membership dues of $600 allow attendance to the
spring course (March 7-8, 2009) and fall conference (August 29-30, 2009).
Non-members may register for a single meeting for $350.
Physicians may bring staff members to the lectures for an additional $25 each. Staff members must be accompanied by the physician.

Advanced registration is requested. An administrative fee of $75 will be retained on all refunds. No refunds will be given after the course has begun. The Medical College of Georgia cannot reimburse airline or other transportation fares, hotel or rental car charges, including penalties.
